RE: Gulf Stream Super C Service

As much as I hate them this sounds like the reason God made lawyers. Just a letter from one would probably light a fire under Gulf Streams as they would not want their "good" name being tarnished if this went to court. Its stories like this on these forums that convinced me to go Jayco. Just a thought for what its worth.

RE: Picking up my new Seneca

If you can`t stick around for a couple days you should open and close everything.Windows and blinds included.Sometimes the window locks don`t always line up.Also if your salesperson is standing there have him or her stand under the air conditioner vents and turn both them on full blast, then send him to get his detailer to clean out your unit, there was a lot of debris came out of ours. One other thing I found on mine, check the screws on the ladder and all the little shocks both ends on all the cargo doors. Some on mine where tightened too much and snapped the heads off and left the factory that way. These are great units and I hope you enjoy yours as much as we enjoy ours.Good luck.

RE: Suspension upgrades on 07 Seneca HD 35GS

AndyAmes I am suprised you say those two units handle the same. The 09 would have the 19,000lb springs and the four house batteries behind the passenger seat for better weight distribution not to mention nine more inches of wheelbase? We have a 08 36FS with the 19,000lb springs and the four house batteries behind the passenger seat.We test drove an 2006 35GS which drove better than the 2005 34SS we drove. Now granted these were just test drives and not that many miles were put on but,I thought the 36FS has less sway and was not as bouncy in the front as the others. But I suppose as AZ99 pointed out one persons idea of a bad driving vehicle is another persons sports car.Just a thought for what its worth

RE: Images of my 2009 Seneca I picked up in Des Moines, IA

I also noticed the backsplash and thought they put it on the wrong wall. The side wall on ours is the only one that can be a pain to clean after frying up bacon on the stove.I wonder why they did not put it on the side wall that way not only would it give a touch of class to the kitchen it would be functional as well.

RE: Suspension upgrades on 07 Seneca HD 35GS

8KCAB the easiest way to visually know which springs you have is if all three leafs are the same thickness you have 15,000 lb springs if one leaf is noticably thicker you have the 19,000 lb leafs. hope this helps

RE: Questions for Seneca owners

I should clarify the chair thing. One of the units we looked at on the lot was a leftover 2006 34ss with the euro chair. That one was comfortable, not real sure why they changed them in 2008, but they are definitely different. The other was a 2008 36fs with the barrel chair and it was as JohnlnAz said WORTHLESS, even more uncomfortable than the new euro chair. However it is free and either way you will most likely buy an upgrade from the local furniture store. I`m not a big fan of spending money twice so if I had it to do again I would save the money on the euro chair option and use it for a good one down at the local furniture store.
Now it could just be my imagination but I`d almost swear the thermopane windows do seem to make it a little quieter inside.
just a thought for what its worth

RE: Questions for Seneca owners

Jan how many people are you trying to sleep in this unit?
I personaly like the front entertianment unit it also has a single slideout bunk
Provincial Glazed Maple Wood Package - Makes interior look dark and smaller
Convection Microwave - Deletes the oven (noboby uses anyway)and give more cupboard space
Euro Chair ILO Swivel Chair - looks nice not real comfortable though
Electric, Leather Sofa - J sofa not a pullout bed good for kids only
8 cu. ft. Refrigerator with Ice Maker - Ice maker takes up some of that 8 cu ft
Winegard® Dome Satellite Dish - Don`t know only need local news when camping
19" LCD HDTV, Exterior Door Side - Standard equipment use the master bedroom tv for the outside hookup its the easiest to move around
8000 Watt Diesel Generator - probably overkill as 6000 watt seems to do the job
Diamond Shield Paint Protection Film - not an option, try and get one without it
Thermal Pane Tinted Safety Glass Windows - we have them as we are in Canada
Premium Paint Package - a must have try polishing 10 year old gel coat
thats just my preferances though
for more you can check out first impressions

Sorry about that. We will not need much as we will be at Marineland for the day possibly two. Just need a place to keep the motorhome plugged in and spend the night.

RE: 09 Jayco Seneca or Winnebago Journey advice?

He can`t be talking about a 2008 36FS either as mine full of fuel, propane, water, dishes and a toolbox it will weigh in at 6886lbs or 3130kg on the front axle and 13398lbs or 6090kg on the rear for a total of 20284lbs or 9220kg. Leaving 5716lbs or 2598kg for a trailer.

RE: Gas milages

Our 1992 28 foot Cobra American had a 460 that used to get us 9 to 10.5 miles per U.S. gallon. We ran Mobile 1 synthetic motor oil and synthetic gear oil in the rear end. We figure the synthetic oil may have increased the mileage .5 mpg but who knows for sure? We did notice it ran cooler and seemed to pull the longer grades a little better with the synthetic oils.Just a thought for what its worth

RE: Where to find gasoline prices Banff/Jasper?

Try this www.gasbuddycanada.com Just for your calculations there is 3.78 liters in a U.S. gallon. You are better off topping up your tank at Hinton or Canmore. Just a thought for what its worth
One other thing most Shell Cardlocks (in Alberta anyway) are Flying J`s

RE: D.I.Y. oil change question

Camper Ken Just a suggestion if you have to buy a filter wrench you should consider a strap type. They have a steel shaft that fits on a 1/2 inch drive ratchet and a 2" to 3" wide strap on the end. These type are what the pros use on a tight filter and sometimes the factory does them up pretty tight. They are very simple to use and I`ve never had a filter I could not get off, plus they are cheap.
As for "What’s the worst that might happen if I can’t get it off and leave it on?" It is actually more important to change the filter than the oil so you may want to start with the filter. Just a thought for what its worth.
